How to Apply

Applications are submitted via Google Form.

Sixty applicants will be selected to participate, based on merit.

Please submit all documents during the application process by 23:59 on 27 July 2025. Items marked * in the application form are mandatory. (Incomplete applications will not be processed.)

All applicants will be informed of the status of their application (successful, waiting list, unsuccessful) by mid-August 2025.

Registration Fees

The registration fee includes:

  • access to the full ten-day course programme
  • if required: 12 nights’ accommodation at shared-gender hostel (walking distance to course venue)
  • catered lunches
  • secure community space on WhatsApp
  • course certificate on completion of the course

Accommodation

Accommodation has been reserved at YHA Adelaide Central for up to 50 participants.

Participants will be allocated to rooms based on gender, with 6-8 people per dorm. The accommodation is a 10-minute walk to SAiGENCI. Participants are welcome to find their own accommodation if they do not wish to share a dorm.

Accommodation information:

  • Key-card security for all rooms, including bathrooms and group areas
  • Free Wifi
  • Continental breakfast available for $14 daily
  • Self-catering facilities – including both a BBQ and full oven
  • 24-hour reception and access
  • Full wheelchair accessibility
  • Linens and pillows supplied
  • Towel hire ($2 per towel)
  • Individual lockers in rooms – including powerpoints to securely charge electronic devices (own padlocks required)

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there grants for this course?
  • At this time, there is no financial assistance available for this course.
Can I attend only part of the course?
  • Due to the highly competitive nature and selection of participants, you will not be able to pick and choose which sessions you attend. Attendance will be noted throughout the week.
Will this course apply towards my institute’s program requirements?
  • We are unable to advise on whether this course can count towards your institute’s PhD program requirements. Please check with your home institution for advice on this, and email ricki.mailloux@monash.edu with any additional questions.
What if I’m not comfortable sharing accommodation?
  • We understand that sharing accommodation is not for everyone. Participants are welcome to find their own accommodation if they do not wish to share a dorm.
Can I bring my child/spouse?
  • It is strongly advised not to bring any dependent person with you during the course. Childcare is not available, and due to the shared accommodation, bringing your spouse is not advised.
How is travel arranged?
  • Please arrange your own travel. The course is within reasonable walking distance from the accommodation. Further information will be provided closer to the course date.
